Annual ConferenceAt the annual conference, DSA members gather to share information and ideas, to attend performances, and to engage one another on the state of the field. At the 2022 conference in Vancouver, the first DSA gathering in Canada and postponed from 2020, presenters will explore dance and activism in localized and transcultural settings, and share strategies for productive change on the stage, street, screen and within the academy. Read more about the 2024 conference HERE.
All are welcome to attend, but conference presenters must be DSA members in good standing. To this end, while you may apply to present at DSA conference without membership, if you are accepted then you are expected to both register and join by the noted deadline.
DSA is a small non-profit organization whose financial sustainability is directly dependent on annual membership fees (rates as low as $25/year) and conference registration (both in-person and virtual). While DSA currently does not accept donations from large corporations, our small staff is often able to brainstorm sponsorship solutions to support individual members under severe financial hardship. If you would like to enquire about support for attending our conference or would like to volunteer to find matching funds for peers in disadvantage, please reach out to Executive Director Lizzie Leopold ([email protected]).
